This is how Level IQ works!
- 1. Seamless Installation The Level IQ system utilizes a robust, probe-like sensor installed directly inside a tank, separator, or process vessel. It is designed to interact continuously with the complex fluid layers, including water, emulsion, oil, and foam.
2. Multi-Electrode Sensing Technology Once submerged, an electric field is applied across multiple electrodes situated along the probe. The MIRA unit leverages advanced tomographic technologies to measure the electrical properties of the surrounding fluids. Depending on the specific process, it uses:
EIT (Electrical Impedance Tomography)
ERT (Electrical Resistivity Tomography)
ECT (Electrical Capacitance Tomography)
3. Overcoming the "Dirty Condition" Challenge. In heavy industrial processes, sticky substances inevitably deposit onto the sensor, which causes traditional probes to fail. Level IQ solves this by utilizing tomography. This advanced mathematical method makes it possible to calculate and map the actual fluid properties outside and beyond the deposited boundary zone.
4. Pinpoint Accuracy in Any Condition By seeing past the buildup on the probe, the system accurately identifies the true layers—calculating the exact interfaces between the water, the emulsion/rag layer, the oil, and the foam. This ensures a highly accurate, real-time level profile regardless of harsh or dirty conditions.
5. Seamless DCS Integration Once the accurate level profile is calculated, the data is continuously transmitted to the customer’s Distributed Control System (DCS). Level IQ supports standard industrial interfaces and protocols, such as 4-20mA and Modbus, ensuring easy integration, reliable monitoring, and optimized plant control.
